What is Auto-Archiving of Trading Accounts?
Auto-Archiving is a process where inactive trading accounts in MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platforms are automatically archived. This happens when accounts meet specific inactivity criteria to ensure efficient platform performance and data management.
What are The Rules for Auto-Archiving Trading Accounts in MetaTrader 5 (MT5) Platform in QuoMarkets?
Live Accounts in MT5 are automatically archived based on the following conditions:
- 30 Days of Inactivity with a Maximum Balance of $20: If you haven’t logged into your MT5 account for 30 consecutive days and your account balance is $20 or less, the account will be automatically archived.
- 10 Days of Inactivity with No Balance: If you haven’t logged into your MT5 account for 10 consecutive days and your account balance is $0, the account will be automatically archived.
Demo Accounts in MT5:
- No Auto-Archiving Rules: Demo accounts do not follow auto-archiving rules. However, they are active for 30 days after creation and will be deleted automatically after that period.
What are The Rules for Auto-Archiving Trading Accounts in MetaTrader 4 (MT4) Platform in QuoMarkets?
Live Accounts in MT4 are automatically archived under the following conditions:
- 3 Months of Inactivity with a Maximum Balance of $20: If you haven’t logged into your MT4 account for 3 consecutive months and your account balance is $20 or less, the account will be automatically archived.
Demo Accounts in MT4:
- No Rules: There are no specific rules for archiving or deleting demo accounts in MT4.
How Can I Prevent My Account from Being Archived?
To avoid the auto-archiving of your account, ensure that:
- You log into your account regularly within the specified time frames.
- You maintain an account balance above $20 if you plan on remaining inactive for longer periods.
What Happens When My Account is Archived?
When your account is archived, you will no longer be able to access it in the normal account list. However, the account data is not lost; it is simply stored for long-term preservation and can be retrieved upon request or by contacting our QuoMarkets Support Team via email at [email protected].
Note: As per the latest rule, once an account is unarchived, the client must log in or deposit funds into the trading account within 24 hours. Otherwise, the account will be re-archived.
What Happens to Pending Orders When An Account is Archived?
- When an account with pending orders is archived due to auto-archiving rules, the pending orders will automatically be close.
- If you request to have the account unarchived, the pending orders will not be restored.
